People around the world are making the connection between the Amazon fires, the climate emergency, and massive global financiers backing destruction like BlackRock.
Within only 2 weeks, an amazing 59 actions happened all over the world to protect the Amazon rainforest and its Indigenous peoples yesterday.
The organizers including our partners at Amazon Watch encouraged actions at Brazilian embassies or the corporate offices of the biggest companies driving or funding destructive practices there. BlackRock is at the top of this list, as last week's new report proved they are the world's biggest funder of deforestation, including in the Amazon.
Yesterday saw actions organized outside BlackRock's second biggest global office in London, as well as in Stockholm, Boston, Hong Kong, and San Francisco. Here are some of our favorite photos.
